Rescue a Dog, They Will Love You Forever

By Jennifer • on March 2, 2009

I have been fostering a Min Pin named Mickey…who is starring in the video here.  He is the sweetest thing and I know that there is someone out there that is perfect for him.

I know that a lot of people think that puppies are cute, but look at Mickey…who can be cuter than that?

Recently, I’ve  had people insist that they want to buy a puppy because they believe that  puppies are easier to train…Consider that Mickey is house trained and he already knows how to sleep in the bed without taking all of the covers :) .  Also, puppies take lots of time and energy for several months…usually six to eight months of constant supervision and training.  Whereas and adult rescue dog needs only a month or two to adjust to your lifestyle.

The point I am trying to make is that before you go out and purchase a puppy…please consider rescuing an adult dog first.  Check out Petfinder…and just see what is out there…I just know you’ll find what you are looking for.
